UOL Senate House
Project Overview:
Carpet & Timber Flooring
The iconic Senate House, an integral part of the University of London, is located just behind the British Museum. It’s unique appearance, with striking Art Deco design, was the inspiration for the Ministry of Truth building in George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four – and appeared in the film of the same name as well as in episodes of Doctor Who and many Hollywood hits such as Batman Begins, Fast & Furious 6 and No Time to Die.
Our works there, in conjunction with Main Contractors Planned Action, focused on installing Modern Movements Crossing Lines, a striking carpet tile (with face fibres containing 40% recycled content).
The central Dance Floor is home to multiple “jigsaw piece” platforms – each section is individually installed and aligned to create this stunning, versatile and unique area.
